This AC Recording Timer from IEC is a simple, low cost velocity measuring device that permits a long narrow strip of paper tape, dragged by a moving object, to pass under a carbon paper disc and a vibrating hammer which makes dots on the paper strip. The rate of hammering and the distance between the dots permits velocity to be calculated. The heavy diecast base with the rubber feet allows the device to vibrate at 50Hz without the need to clamp it to the bench.
