What are your office hours?

Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. As we are a mail order business we are always at the other end of the phone or e-mail. Feel free to call us or email your queries to sales@scorpiotechnology.com.au

Do you sell to individuals or schools only?

Anyone can purchase items. Individuals will be asked to prepay for their order.

How do I order?

You do not need to create an account to order from us.

SCHOOLS:

  • Send a copy of the official school order form and we will send the items with an invoice.

  • Schools without official order forms are required to send an emailed order that displays school details. The teacher’s name and contact details must be supplied.

INDIVIDUALS:

  • Phone, e-mail, fax or mail the order to us. We will provide payment options and details to you.

What payment options are available?

Our preferred method of payment is by Electronic bank transfer but you can pay by Cheque, Money Order or Credit card (Visa or Mastercard only). Scorpio bank details can be found on your invoice or by contacting us.

Note: there is a 3 working day clearance on cheques.

Do you have credit card facilities?

Yes, please contact our office to arrange payment.

Note: there is a 1.50% surcharge for orders over $250.00.

How long will it take to dispatch my order?

Orders are dispatched promptly. Orders are packed in the order received but urgent orders will be given precedence. At peak periods our dispatch times usually increase. Your order will be sent by Australia Post.

What are the delivery options?

Your order will be sent by Australia Post. For expected delivery, please check their website.

Note: Urgent deliveries we can arranged through either Express Post or Courier delivery. There will be an additional charge for either of these services.

Can I pick up my order?

If you wish to pick up your order please let us know when you are coming and we will have the order ready for you.

Note: this can also be arranged outside office hours by prior arrangement.

Is the GST included in the catalogue price?

Yes, all prices include GST.

Do you have a catalogue?

Because we are constantly adding products and our inventory is always changing, a printed catalogue would quickly be out of date.   For this reason, we do not offer a printed catalogue. Please check our catalogues on our website – they are always as up to date as they can be.

How do I find out if Scorpio have enough kits in stock?

Scorpio Technology endeavours to have plenty of kits on hand. All of our kits are packed locally so your order can be dispatched promptly.

What happens if an item is out of stock?

Scorpio designed kits are rarely out of stock. Our experienced team members pack them locally to ensure they are always available.

If we are out of stock on an item you order, we will send your order without the item. We will send you an email telling you the item is on backorder and the expected delivery date. At that time you can tell us to cancel the back ordered item or deliver it when it arrives.

We try to keep the website up to date, but if you need to know if we have something in stock before ordering, please email us first sales@scorpiotechnology.com.au.

We wish to resell your products. What do we need to do?

If you have a business that would like to re-sell our products please contact us to discuss Business to Business (B2B) pricing.

RETURNS POLICY

I recently ordered some kits from you but some will definitely be too hard for our kids. Can I return some of them and replace them with a few of the easier kits instead? I will obviously pay for postage.

 Yes, you can return the kits. Please note that there is a 3 month window for this (unless agreed with the management).

 It is great that you have tried out the kits prior to presenting to your students. Notify our office (by email) which kits you require. Send back the kits you no longer require. We will reissue your Tax invoice to reflect the changes.

 INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

The website teaching units (Overviews) are missing information that we require to make the kit. How can we get this information?

The online unit lets teachers assess the scope and type of work, develop a class plan, assess length of class required and so on, but has the IP (intellectual property) taken out to prevent others copying our designs.

The Teaching unit supplied with your order has complete instructions.

In addition, we would suggest not keeping a master copy as we do update our units from time to time, or change the designs and parts list. If you require it we are always happy to email you the latest teaching unit  Please notify us if you did not receive a copy with your order.

 WORKSHOP SPONSORSHIP

We will be presenting your products during a professional learning weekend run by a Teachers Association. Can we receive a discount for these items?

We encourage teachers to experience making our kits prior to teaching the unit in the classroom, especially as the major benefit is not just how to make the kit, but if being presented by other teachers, it is about “How I teach this to my students”. To assist these professional Learning opportunities we usually provide free kits to construct at the Workshop.

Please notify our Sales team by email sales@scorpiotechnology.com.au of your requirements, emphasizing that this a PD session run by DATTA etc. We request a summary of the Workshop activities, who is running it and so on. We also appreciate feedback and photos afterwards.

 Do you run professional learning sessions using your products?

In a word – No. We discontinued running session ourselves instead we support PD sessions run by DATTA or other organisations. We encourage teachers to experience making our kits prior to teaching the unit in the classroom.

PD sessions have TWO major benefits:

·         Learning how to put the kit together and how to teach it in a classroom scenario.

·         Our staff are not Technology Teachers. We can provide some information and suggestions, but would much rather support these PD sessions run by teachers who can help you with those ideas, as they are the most value to you.  

 IMPORTANT

  • Every effort has been made to ensure website and catalogue content is accurate at the time of publishing and there may be circumstances that impact accuracy. This includes information sourced from supplier websites.  From time to time the item supplied may vary to the catalogue illustration due to a change of supplier or changes made by supplier. 

  • Prices subject to change without notice, including but not limited to the relevant manufacturer’s / supplier’s price updates, shipping and other supply chain changes, omissions and errors.

  • If any items are not immediately available, you will be notified of the expected shipping date and the item will be placed on backorder.  If your order is split into two as a result, you will only be charged shipping once.

  • Items should only be used for the purpose for which they were intended otherwise the warranty will be void.

  • We advise that orders received from us must be checked upon receipt and we are notified of any omissions or errors immediately. 

  • (NEW LINE) A restocking fee may apply to goods returned due to change of mind or returning incorrectly ordered goods.  This will be determined on a case-by-case basis.  Goods must be unused and unopened.  Please contact us via email prior to returning.  Postage for goods being returned due to change of mind or incorrect ordering is to be borne by the parties returning the goods – if these items are being exchanged for another item, the customer is also responsible for the cost of posting the new items, plus any price difference (if applicable). 

  • If there are any items that we do not advertise, but you are interested in us procuring it on your behalf, we are happy to do so where possible. 

    • Payment in full must be received in our nominated bank account before we order these products, due to our inability to re-sell these if you (the customer) has a change of mind

    • If such a product is to be sourced from an overseas supplier / manufacturer, we reserve the right to charge you (the customer) part or all of the import freight cost and associated import costs.  We will notify you of that possibility and give you the opportunity to withdraw your request for us to source / purchase that product.

  • Postage to international destinations is available on a case-by-case basis.  Item prices and freight charges will be ex-GST to international customers.  Special conditions and freight rates apply.  Any statutory, bank or customs charges and taxes will be the sole responsibility of the customer.
